April 7th - Spring Fling Yappy Hour + Canine Good Neighbour Testing

Celebrate spring with our Spring Fling Yappy Hour, plus Canine Good Neighbour evaluations for those who wish to participate. Enjoy social time, seasonal fun, and a chance to get your pup his Canine Good Neighbour Certification.

What to Expect at Yappy Hour?

Yappy Hour is a free, relaxed, dog-friendly social evening where dogs and their people can meet other local pet parents, enjoy time together and unwind in a welcoming community setting.
  • Spacious indoor and outdoor areas
  • Craft beer, cider, wine and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase
  • Complimentary Pup Cup Buffet and fresh water for dogs
  • Yappy Hour activities from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Guests are welcome to remain at Market Brewing after Yappy Hour ends
  • Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult

Yappy Hour Etiquette

We want Yappy Hour to be safe and enjoyable for every dog and person attending. Please keep the following in mind:
  • Dogs must remain on a standard leash and under control at all times. Retractable or Flexi-leashes are not permitted. A standard leash can be provided if needed.
  • Allow dogs to greet one another calmly and respectfully.
  • If your dog appears stressed or uncomfortable, please give them some space and take a break.
  • Please keep dogs off the furniture and do not attach leashes to chairs or tables.
  • Do not offer food or treats to another dog without their person’s permission. Some dogs have allergies or sensitive stomachs.
  • Please use the grassy area for bathroom breaks and clean up after your dog.
  • If you need to step away or use the washroom, please ask a YPPS team member for help rather than leaving your dog unattended.

You know your dog best. Please bring them only if they can remain comfortable and under control in a busy environment with other dogs and people. Females in heat should not attend. If your dog is overly focused on or unsettled by other dogs, Yappy Hour may not be the right environment for them that day.

Yappy Hour FAQs

Is Yappy Hour free to attend?

Yes. There is no charge to attend Yappy Hour. Beverages are available to purchase from Market Brewing. Any special activity requiring registration or an additional fee will be noted in the schedule.

Do I need to register?

Registration is not required to attend Yappy Hour. Some special activities, including Canine Good Neighbour evaluations, require advance registration. Registration information will be included with the applicable event.

Do I need to be a York Professional Pet Sitting & Dog Walking client?

No. Yappy Hour is open to local dog lovers, whether or not they currently use YPPS services.

Can I attend without a dog?

Absolutely. Dog lovers are welcome to join us with or without a dog.

YPPS is a locally owned professional pet care and dog walking company that has served pets and their families in Newmarket, Aurora, Sharon and Holland Landing since 2000. We created Yappy Hour to give local dogs and their people a welcoming place to connect, have fun and enjoy being part of the pet-loving community.
When we aren’t hosting Yappy Hour, our employee team provides professional dog walking and in-home pet sitting 365 days a year.
