Dear Pet parents,

Welcome and thank you for stopping by to find out how we can help you with your pet care needs.

My name is Morag Willcox and I have been a resident of the Newmarket area since 1991.   I am married with 2 children and 2 adorable grandchildren. 

In March of 2000, I started York Professional Pet Sitting and Dog Walking.

As a lifetime pet parent, animal lover, and advocate, I recognized a need for an in-home pet care service in our area of York Region to reduce stress on pets being transported to catteries, kennels and boarding facilities were many of them felt stressed and traumatized being away from their familiar surroundings.

My commitment from day 1 is to serve the pets in Newmarket, Aurora, Holland Landing, Sharon, and surrounding area in a kind, compassionate and safe manner while their owners are at work, on vacation or business trip, away for a long day or recovering from illness or injury. No longer do you have to impose on family and friends or drop off and pick up your fur kids.

Through our Time To Pet App and/or client portal you will receive notes via text or email at the end of each visit ensuring them that their beloved pets have been visited and how they are doing.  Through newsletters and social media, I strive to keep clients updated on their pet’s behaviour and, new upcoming ideas and events.

My main concern is always the safety, health, and happiness of the pets in our care. All our team members are Pet First Aid Certified and are members in good standing of, The Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, Petsittingology, Pet Sitters International and other pet care groups. We network with pet professionals of all types all around the world, sharing ideas to ensure that we are up to date and that your pet gets the best care possible.

I have taken extensive courses in pet behaviour, health, and welfare and am a Certified Pet Care Professional and our team is always continuing our education to ensure your pets get the best possible care and you have the peace of mind that you deserve.

York Professional Pet Sitting is proud to maintain an A+ Accreditation with the Better Business Bureau and was also nominated for New Business of the Year Award in 2002 by the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce.   We have received The Readers Choice Award for Best Dog Walking and dog care in 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018  and since  2013 for continues years honoured to receive Readers Choice Award from the Era Banner.

We are also proud to contribute to our community in pet and non-pet related initiatives. Sponsoring and preparing a meal for the night at Inn from the Cold, providing Dog Water Stops at the Newmarket Jazz Festival, sponsoring a local baseball team and contributing to many local raffles and fundraising events.  Every month we host a YAPPY HOUR event at Market Brewing in Newmarket.    Please click here for all the information.

All team members are bonded and insured under the business policy through Canadian Pet Pro and were brought on board because of their true love for animals and their care and compassion for their safety, health, happiness, and general well being.

I take great pride in York Professional Pet Sitting and Dog Walking and in the reputation it has gained over the years. The growth has been incredible and as the company continues to grow, I will keep the same family atmosphere, dedication, and training that I have since the beginning.
