Hello! I’m Morag, founder and proud pack leader of York Professional Pet Sitting & Dog Walking, proudly serving families in Newmarket, Aurora, Sharon, and Holland Landing since 2000.

What began as a solo pet care business has grown into a trusted team of 20+ professional dog walkers and pet sitters. This year, we celebrate 25 years of providing compassionate, reliable pet care,  and I couldn’t be more proud of the journey.

A Mission Rooted in Love & Trust

When I started York Professional Pet Sitting & Dog Walking, my goal was simple: to give pet parents peace of mind and provide pets with consistent, loving care in the comfort of their own home.

We understand that leaving your pet — and your home — in someone else’s hands is a big decision. That’s why each team member is bonded, insured, and carefully selected for their experience, reliability, and genuine love of animals. We provide care 365 days a year, in any kind of weather, because your pet’s needs never take a day off.

Pet care is never one-size-fits-all. Whether it’s a midday dog walk in Aurora, a weekend visit with your cat in Sharon, or daily vacation care in Holland Landing, we tailor each visit to your pet’s needs and routine.

Many pets experience stress when their humans are away. Our team brings more than just leashes and litter scoops  We bring calm, connection, and consistency. We’re not just pet sitters and dog walkers,  we’re trusted companions.

About Me – Pet Lover, Business Owner, Community Advocate

I was born in South East London, England, and moved to Canada with my family in 1972. I have lived in Newmarket for 35 years with my husband Glenn, our fun-loving Havanese pup, and I’m a proud mom and grandmother of three beautiful grandkids. We love classic cars, especially touring around in our vintage Model A, and I enjoy baking, reading, writing, and travel when time allows.

• Outside of York Professional, I recently co-founded Canadian Pet Care Professionals, a national organization advocating for high standards and recognition for the pet care industry in Canada.
• I’m also a proud member of: The Newmarket Chamber of Commerce and Pet Sitters International.

Why It Matters

To me, this is more than a business. It’s a commitment to pets, people, and the place I call home. I love hearing clients say they no longer worry when they’re away because they know we’re caring for their pets like they’re our own.
