COVID-19 Protocols
COVID-19 Safety Precautions
Serving and Protecting Our Community
Illness
Any team member who is feeling unwell or showing symptoms of COVID will be removed from the schedule and sent to be tested. Another team member will cover while they are off and once a negative test is returned they can resume work. Should a positive test come back they will remain off the schedule until they are better and receive a negative test and medical clearance that it is safe to return to work.
Clients testing positive, feeling unwell or showing symptoms of COVID must inform us right away. Either the visits will be cancelled, or all humans in the home must be in a separate room from your pet care provider and all parties are required to wear a mask.
Masks
All team members will wear a face mask or covering when a client is home. Currently, masks are not required outside but physical distancing will be maintained when out walking your pet, they will not be allowed to meet with other dogs, neighbours or even friends they meet on their route.
Sanitize
Team members are all equipped with hand sanitizer and Lysol or Clorox wipes. They sanitize their hands before and after each visit. All items touched including door handles, treat jars, water bowls etc are sanitized.
Leashes and other equipment
All team members have their own 6-foot control double grip leash provided by the company and where possible will use this leash instead of the clients. The leash is sanitized after each use, as well as any of your equipment that requires handling by the team (collars, harnesses etc)
No Contact
A lot of clients are at home during a visit as they are working from home. As much as we love to socialize, we ask that they wait in a separate room while we get the dog ready for his walk and when we drop them off.
If you prefer we can also text you when we are 5 minutes away and you can secure the dog in the backyard for safe pick up and drop off.
Virtual Meet and Greet
We love meeting our clients but during this time new client meet and greets are no longer in person, instead, we are conducting them virtually on the Zoom platform. The format of the virtual meet and greet remains the same, we want to spend the time getting to know each other and learning about your pet’s routine, behaviour, little quirks and fears.
If you have a dog who is a new rescue, fearful of people or highly reactive we can do a test visit before you actually need us, with you home, while masked and maintaining a safe physical distance to ensure it is a good fit for your dog and our team.
We make booking safe and easy during COVID.
